Took 2 weeks to get Kirby back after several empty promises and excuses after it was sent for two apparently unrelated repairs. They claimed Kirby worked 'like new' and a few days later the motor started sparking/smoking with a burning smell. Now they have Kirby again and are awaiting examiner's report. Avoid this shop!
Update on below review I had to liaise with person who received my item and arrange to exchange items. It was confirmed by said person in writing that my item received was different to item received by 'Mark'. I emailed 'Mark' (all previous requests for email correspondences have been ignored) and demanded my item be returned to me immediately. He apologised for late delivery. That's it. No mention of why the items were switched, no disclosure of what he did with my items in the weeks he had them, nothing. Given the 'quality' of repair (see below), he clearly tried to swap a good component for a faulty replacement. Given the fact that he never answered/addressed a single one of my many other complaints, it is clear that he was trying to sneak one past me. This is not a 'mistake'. It was deliberate. I had my suspicions during the booking in process (how can one of two utterly different model vacuum cleaners end up with the same receipt number?) but acquainted my concerns, brushing them off as unfounded suspicion – I was mistaken, it seems.

The man (not gentleman) named Mark kept sending messages requesting more money for more repairs needed. He claimed that the previous amount was only to fix the motor. He justifies the motor issue was my fault and that he tried to contact me. Only after I argued this point with him did he send me an invoice stating labour fees and breakdowns on charges. I found it strange that he clearly states that the motor was sent in for repairs, yet he claims it was not part of his quote. The reason I questioned this was that the machine never worked right from the beginning (not to mention he told me verbatim it’s impossible for a motor to be damaged), it has a burning smell and is almost impossible to push. Struggles through carpeted floors. Obviously 2 x quotes are much cheaper than throwing parts at a problem and seeing how much money he can extract from me. I disputed his claims and he agreed to deliver the machine back to me without further payment. I am now R125 poorer after I previously paid him R1050 in cash (so no, it’s not the same amount) and made another payment of R125 (now or never - during lock-down).
Shocking service! No communication after my vacuum was fetched to be serviced. Kirby came back in even worse condition, my attachments are missing, phone calls and emails aren't being answered. I tried to phone around to find out who could help and discovered this is the only central Kirby 'service' centre in Cape Town. Avoid at all costs.
The worst service I have ever experienced. Avoid this place at all costs. Messed my vacuum completely and didn’t even honour the warranty they gave. Not once but several times they ignored me and all attempts to pay me back. A very sad experience
Absolutely abysmal service! They are supposed to be vacuum cleaner repair specialists, but they are completely useless. I handed in my vacuum cleaner on 1 November and was told it would take 1-2 weeks to repair. It is now 12 December and I still have not received my vacuum cleaner back. Every time I call or email to find out what’s going on, they give me excuses and empty promises. They keep saying it will be ready in a few days, but then nothing happens. I am extremely frustrated and disappointed with their service. Avoid this repair shop at all costs!
This is the worst vacuum cleaner repair shop I have ever been to. My vacuum cleaner was not fixed properly and it broke again within a week. When I took it back to the repair shop, they refused to fix it for free and wanted to charge me again. They were also very rude and unprofessional. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
Do not waste your time or money at this vacuum cleaner repair shop. They are completely unreliable and unprofessional. I took my vacuum cleaner in for repair and they promised to have it fixed within a week. After 3 weeks of waiting, I finally called to see what was going on and they said they still hadn’t started working on it. They offered no explanation or apology for the delay. I ended up taking my vacuum cleaner to another repair shop and they fixed it in 2 days. Avoid this place!

They took weeks to repair my vacuum cleaner and when I finally got it back, it was still not working properly. I ended up taking it to another repair shop and they fixed it within a few days.
