On 26 November'22, my Volvo XC60 broke down. As my vehicle is still under a maintenance and warranty plan, Volvo assist towed my vehicle and to Volvo Auto Baltic Midrand and severely damaged it in the process.
I drive a Xc60. I requested Silver Lakes to install adaptive speed control. The workshop manager Hugo informed me that it is not possible. After speaking to the techs at Volvo SA they assured me that can definitely be done. I forwarded their email to Hugo and he was quite embarrassed to say the least. Surely I was right to assume a company like Volvo Auto SA would be have the required skills? This is not about VW sticking a Porsche badge on a Cayenne and selling it at a tremendous mark-up.
It’s unfortunate that I’m still waiting for my Finder’s fee. My sister was looking to buy a Volvo and one of the salesmen, Kabelo was a very helpful. He even took my sister out for a test drive and built a great relationship with her over a period of 3 weeks while the transaction was underway. The deal was concluded on 06th Oct and Kabelo and I agreed on a 10k finder’s fee due to the professionalism and service delivery. He confirmed via WhatsApp the standard of payment and stated to me that my MTN account will be loaded on 31st of October before 5pm. This day came but I did not receive an SMS from MTN indicating a value has been loaded nor from the dealer confirming that they have made the payment. I tried contacting Kabelo and his General Sales Manager Pheo on Saturday the 01st of November requesting an update but to this day I have not received a single response from them. I will wait until Friday the 23rd of November before I will relay this experience to Volvo Sweden headquarters as was suggested by Hugo Steyn. Poor follow up on their side!!
